Skólinn á Eyrunum var byggður á árunum 1922 – 1923. Húsið er teiknað af Einari Erlendssyni húsameistara sem lengi vann hjá Húsameistara ríkisins. Þetta er annað af tveimur húsum sem hann teiknaði á Seyðisfirði, hitt húsið er félagsheimilið Herðubreið. Skóli var starfræktur í húsinu fram um 1960 þegar byggðin á Eyrunum lagðist af. Með tímanum lét húsið á sjá en árið 2013 hófst endurgerð þess og nú er það lítið frístundahús. Mikið fugla og dýralíf er í nágrenninu og gestir njóta þess gjarnan að fylgjast með fuglum á sjónum og sjá bæði hvali og seli á leik í firðinum.

The School was build in 1922 – 1923 and was an elementary School for the Village Eyrar and the surrounding area until 1960. At that time the Village was abandoned as people moved away to the Town of Seydisfjordur.

The house gradually deteriorated until it was closed for protection in 1985 by the current owner. In 2013 a serious work on refurbishing the house begun. It was changed into a small cottage with a fireplace and fantastic view to the wildlife around, the sea and the fantastic nature surrounding it. There are a lot of birds and animals in the area. Some lucky guests´ have had visit from a curious seal or even seen a whale playing in front of the living room window.
